A Holistic Approach
Imagine coming to a space where you feel safe. You drink a cup of tea, you leave everything else outside the door, you are being taken care of, pampered, without expectations or goals, you can be yourself, relax, move, take a fresh breath and rest, pain-free, worry-free.
What is Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy is a complementary treatment to conventional medicine. It approaches the person as a whole and uses movement, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and other yoga tools. We take into consideration your concerns, limitations, possible conditions but also lifestyle, mood, sleep & breathing patterns, energy levels, other vital systems of the body and mind, physical, psychological and emotional needs as well as your history and environment. Our goal is not to cure but to empower the individual, to improve wellbeing, to help you manage your challenges, and to gradually teach you how to apply these tools after the end of our sessions. In yoga therapy, we work pain-free.
The essence of our Yoga Therapy work is based on a few, solid principles
1.Respect for the person as a whole. Not only someone’s health issues but every aspect of the human being.
2.Knowledge. Good intentions need to be supported by knowledge. It is important to acquire an in-depth knowledge of health and disease, human psychology and the social environment to be able to support others in their management or recovery journey.
3.Safety. Respect and knowledge equal safety, therefore we create the right environment for our clients to heal and grow.
4.Compassion. We care for our clients. A smile, a cup of tea and a warm welcome can already be a contribution!
1. To work with those who are in need and who can benefit from the safe practices of Yoga Therapy – regardless of their age, gender, disability, gender identity, and social condition.
2.To offer a safe space to those who feel overwhelmed through a variety of physical, emotional, social, or health issues.
3.Encouraging collaboration with, and providing complementary support to conventional medicine.
WHY YOGA THERAPY
Excessive stress, work overload, recurring injuries, chronic disorders, sleep disturbances, other physical/mental challenges like joint pain, back pain or negative feelings are all factors that can bring us out of balance. Yoga Therapy can then be very beneficial to bring balance, symptom relief, reduce stress and increase wellbeing. We work together on the physical, mental, and emotional level with the help of yoga tools. Step by step you learn how to gain more insight into your own active role in restoring and maintaining balance at the same time as we focus on empowerment and learning tools that you can use on your own.

HOW DOES IT WORK
YOGA THERAPY PROGRAM
We start with an intake interview (60-90 minutes), in which we discuss your (medical) history and needs. This is a key component to get a full picture of your self at all levels. Together we become aware of you—physically, energetically, emotionally. This is an important step in the process to help us both discover if I can work with you and also how the personalized yoga sessions can serve you.
Then we continue with our first Session (90 minutes). We work together with posture, movement, and breathing. After this introduction, we evaluate the needs and how it feels for you. At this stage we might decide the number of sessions needed but we do recommend at least 3 sessions . If beneficial, there might be exercises given to practice at home.
We continue with at last 3 or more yoga therapy sessions. The therapeutic effect of an individual session is aimed at restoring and maintaining inner balance, managing, and preventing ill health. All yoga components with which we practice together are carefully selected to work in a practical and targeted manner and are adapted to meet your personal needs.
